    Sunday (after party) walk?

    Hi!

Weather looks promising for Sunday... Sun and Wind!

Is anyone up for a 1 to 3 hour Sunday walk? Of course we start late (Sunday noonish, 1:30PM from Hunter car park, Kelburn Campus) as Saturday is the 1st party Drinks Drinks Drinks .

    We could go:

    • Makara Beach: Easy 2h walk along the coast, (potential) great view on South Island, wind turbines, pick up your paua shell (Advantage: Cafe for the hangover)
    • Baring Head: (yeah, the bouldering spot!): Great view of Wellington Harbour nice beach walk, iconic spot. Close to it (10 min drive) is Turakirae Head  (great bouldering spot as well, sorry intending to go for a walk.)
    • Catchpool Valley: on the way to Baring Head, inland, wind sheltered... - walking like a boss!
    • Kaitoke Regional Park:  foreigners call it Rivendell (don't worry, it looks like NZ, just beautiful!) wind sheltered as well....

Where do we finally go? You persuade/bribe the driver and off we go with the van (12 seats incl driver).

    (More info as usual: NZtopomaps.com)

Finally ended up having a walk from Aro Cafe through Polhill Reserve to the Turbine with views over Wellington Harbour and to the South Island.
